～際(に): Fancy "when"

Introduction

You know what they say, when in Rome... Uhh, imperial conquest... Public baths... Betrayal?

Not sure, actually. But anyway, this one's about a new way to say "when doing X"! So, actually not "when in" at all... darn. I really don't want to rewrite the Rome thing though, so just pretend it makes sense.

〜際さい: A fancy "when"

構成こうせい

  Casual present/past verb + 際さい

• 

  Nounの際さい

  Example:
  → モンスターを倒たおした際さいに、アイテムをもらえます。
  "When you defeat a monster, you can receive an item.”

日本語にほんご文法ぶんぽう説明せつめい

• 

  「〜時とき」、「〜機会きかいに」という意味いみ。

• 

  「〜時とき」よりも少すこし硬かたい言いい方かたなので日常会話にちじょうかいわではあまり使つかわれない。

• 

  「〜際さいは〜ください」という形かたちで使つかわれることが多おおい。
