～にわたって: "Over the span of ..."

Introduction

  "This series aired continuously over 10 years.”

日本語にほんご文法ぶんぽう説明せつめい

  「〜の全体ぜんたいに及およんで」、「〜の広ひろい範囲はんいで」「〜の長ながい間あいだ 」という意味いみ。

  場所ばしょ、期間きかんなどを表あらわす名詞めいしと一緒いっしょに使つかい、「広ひろい範囲はんいの場所ばしょで」「長ながい間あいだの期間きかん」というように、「範囲はんいが大おおきい」という様子ようすを表あらわす。

  回数かいすうと一緒いっしょに使つかうと、「回数かいすうが多おおい」ことを強調きょうちょうする。
