たって・だって

About

～たって is essentially a more casual, spoken version of ～ても, or "even (if)".

If ～たって replaces でも, it becomes だって.

～たって can be used with past casual verbs (～た + って・～だ + って), continuative form い-adjectives, as well as with nouns and な-adjectives.

～たって is most commonly translated as "even (if/though)" and "no matter (how)".

～たって is commonly used to make oppositional statements.

E.g. 今いまから勉強べんきょうしたって間まに合あわないよ。 "Even if you start studying now, it's too late."

E.g. しわくちゃになったって、ずっと好すきだよ。 "I'll always love you, even if you get wrinkly."

E.g. どう考かんがえたって、間違まちがっているのはマイクさんです。 "No matter how you think of it, it's Mike who's in the wrong."
