〜もかまわず

About

～もかまわず is a combination of the も particle and the ず negative form of the verb 構かまう ("to mind; to care").

The ～もかまわず pattern is used to express that someone does X, while not caring about something that most people might reasonably be expected to care about.

～もかまわず can attach to nouns or nominalized verbs/い-adjectives/(somewhat uncommonly)な-adjectives.

E.g. 父ちちは、家族かぞくの心配しんぱいもかまわず、一人ひとりで山やまへ行いってしまった。 "Without regard for his family's worry, my father went into the mountains by himself."

E.g. 大事だいじな試合しあいが明日あしたあるのもかまわず、飲のみに行いってしまった。 "Without regard for the fact that they have an important game tomorrow, they went drinking."

E.g. 上うえの人ひとは、夜遅よるおそいのもかまわずドンドン歩あるいたり、掃除機そうじきをかけたりする。 "The person above me stomps around and vacuums without regard for the fact that it's late at night."

E.g. その人ひとは危険きけんなのもかまわず、猫ねこを助たすけるために線路せんろへ入はいった。 "Regardless of the danger, that person went onto the train tracks to rescue a cat."

The second half of a ～もかまわず statement cannot feature the speaker's wishes, intent, or requests.

～もかまわず is most commonly used in spoken scenarios. It can be used in casual or polite contexts.
